His grave is located in Section 3, Lot 6 tier 3, grave 35 (recorder.cuyahogacounty.us/veteran/gravesearch). If you think this might be your father, you could contact the county or find a newspaper obituary that will likely give more information. Cuyahoga County is also featured on www.rootsweb.com, and your father likely had a social security card which means he will be in the Social Security Death Index, which you can access online. Once you know his parents' names from these sources, you can locate them on the 1920 and 1930 censuses. I also found Army Enlistment Records showing a William Howard (black) who enlisted on 17 Mar 1941 in Cleveland (he was born 1914 in Georgia). His branch was "Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA". He was single at the time, with no dependents. You may be able to get a copy of your parents' marriage certificate from Cuyahoga County as well. I hope this helps! Howard my fathers nane was William Howard this is all I know about him,I am trying to find out more I was told he was born in Columbus Ga do not know the year he was married to Mary Louise Reeves Howard in Cleveland,Ohio. He died in June of 1975 at the age of 61 so that would make him born in 1914 I guess. I also know that he was in the U.S. Calervy but do not know when he was discharged.
